Yellow Labs

I have scoured the internet to find a way to sex these fish, venting seems to be the best way, but also there is a theory that the male as more black edges on his fins than the female.  Who else has had experience with Yellow Labs do you vent them to ensure a breeding harem? Or do you go on the black edge'd fins theory?

Let me know please :)

Quick update

Well the Sp44 has released her babies, swimming around the tank all grouped up at the moment, thinks there is about 10 altogether. The bristlenose are starting to leave the breeding area, a few sitting at the top of the tank where they like it most because of the oxygen.  Going to build an adaptor for the sponge filter to alter the output to push the new oxygenated water to the bottom of the tank where the bristlenose appreciate it more.

Still got the Plec, Usisya and Kandeense for sale if anyone is interested, just contact me and make me an offer.

Looks like the Bristlenose eggs have begun to hatch, waited patiently as I switched my Albino Male for a Common Male to see if they would breed, and Monday the eggs were there and today they seem to be hatching, so will have pictures of these up soon.  Also about another week and my Haplochromis Sp. 44 Red Tail should release her babies.

Quick Update and a few other fish

Just a quick update, as just about to replace all the airpipe in the fish room.  All the Pelvicachromis Pulcher (Kribensis) have all gone.

I do however still have the other fish listed on previous posts, along with

1  x Common Plec about 5-6 inch long.
1 x Common Bristlenose (Male) about 4 inch long.

Both of these are open to offers.

New week, new idea!

A few ideas came about over the weekend, the main one which could possibly help other people around Leicester who are breeders of Cichlids and any other fish.   If you would like to me to list your fish on here along with your contact details I can place an advert on here for you. If you could send a picture of what your selling I can upload this also. For me to place an advert really just need:
Picture.
Fish Name.
Information and quantity
Contact details.
This blog will soon start receiving alot more hits due to SEO being done on the site etc. So for local breeders this could be the new and quickest way of selling your stock. If interested send me information at garybolton1973@gmail.com and I will post the adverts for you.

I will also be sorting out my fish room later today, and no doubt will discover some large tank decorations etc which I will be posting up on here for sale or again for swap. Check back later.
